Optima Medical’s Omaha Microneedling Facial makes use of a process known as Automated Micro-Needling, or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), to treat fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars by stimulating production of the skin’s own collagen and elastin. Both found naturally in the skin, collagen and elastin help give skin a healthy glow and more youthful appearance. Skin Rejuvenation with microneedling uses very fine needles and is clinically proven to promote skin stimulation and skin rejuvenation. There is no thermal component to microneedling, unlike any light based technology so there is no skin burning and skin coagulation. Vertical penetration into the skin to create infusion channels to instantly allow the infusion of vitamins, minerals and hydration with injection grade mesotherapy serums.
How does microneedling work?
Microneedling uses a device that can easily be moved around the treatment area. A sterile needle-tip containing twelve micro-needles is attached to the end of the device. The depth of the needles is determined by the severity of the skin condition. The rapid pulsing motion of the needles allows the device to quickly treat the target area with minimal discomfort.
How is Microneedling performed?
The skin is thoroughly cleansed and sterilized before the collagen induction therapy begins. For our Omaha microneedling facial client’s comfort, a topical numbing agent is applied prior to treatment. During the treatment discomfort is virtually painless. The tip will glide over the skin surface creating micro-channels for product penetration. The skin will be flushed with increased microcirculation. The treatment usually takes around 90 minutes.
What should patients expect during treatment?
Before treatment starts, a thin layer of topical gel is applied to the skin and the microneedling device is set to the appropriate depth to create micro-injuries on the outer layer of skin without damaging surrounding skin or tissue. As the device moves across the treatment area, patients report a feeling a light pressure moving across the skin. The speed at which the pen operates combined with the topical gel makes for a more comfortable experience.
Can it be performed on any skin type/colour?
There is no heat used for this treatment so it is safe to use on any skin colour and skin type. Microneedling can treat any area on the body, including the face, hands, arms, abdomen, etc. It works on both fine lines and wrinkles as well as deeper wrinkles and scars, though these conditions may require additional treatment sessions.
How long before seeing results?
Immediately after their Omaha microneedling facial treatment, patients may notice their skin has a glow to it and looks more refreshed. Redness will occur in the treatment area and usually lasts 2 to 4 days. Your dermatologist can recommend specific skin care products that may speed up the healing process. Results will become more visible typically within a few days and over the following weeks. Results can continue to improve for up to 6 months after the initial treatment. Collagen induction therapy patients typically receive 3 to 4 treatments, but many need up to 6 sessions each spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. Patients with deep scarring or wrinkles are more likely to need extra sessions.
What is the treatment schedule?
For Collagen Induction and Skin Rejuvenation – 1-3 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart. Maintenance once a year. For Scars, Acne Scars, Stretchmarks, and Cellulite – 6+ treatments spaced 4 weeks apart.
What is the downtime?
Each person is very individual and depending on what is being treated, the inflammatory reaction of the skin ranges from 12-24 hours to a few days. In order to nourish the skin, we recommend hydrating the skin regularly and applying a natural sun protection.
What things should patients avoid after the procedure?
Please avoid AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxy Acids), retinol (vitamin A) or anything acidic or ‘active’ for at least 2 days.
What skin care products should patients use after the procedure?
We recommend only using gentle all natural products. A gentle cleanser, hyaluronic acid hydration, a skin oil and sun protection.

What Is Eclipse PRP?
Eclipse PRP is the best quality Platelet Rich Plasma available for the skin care, wound healing and Aesthetic industries.
Eclipse PRP Process
- During a short office visit a small amount of a patient’s own blood is drawn into a 10 mL vacuum collection tube containing a proprietary separator gel.
- The tube is placed into a centrifuge and spun to isolate the platelet- rich plasma.
- The contaminating red and white blood cells are displaced and located below the separator gel.
- The PRP is ready for use according to the clinical use requirements. Yielding ~6 mL’s of autologous platelet-rich plasma (A-PRP).
Eclipse PRP Science
As part of the body’s healing ability, platelets and other components in human blood migrate to the point of care. Platelets are well known to release numerous growth factors that respond to tissue injury and initiate and promote the conditions for healing.
Eclipse PRP is an autologous system that allows physicians to prepare platelet-rich plasma at the point of care. The platelet-rich plasma is optimally concentrated with minimal amounts of contaminating red and white blood cells. This system has been safely used in hundreds of thousands of procedures worldwide.
